On 25th October, 2019, the race to elect a new president for the Ghana Football Association took place at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra. Six strong candidates in the persons of Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie, Fred Pappoe, Lawyer George Ankomah Mensah, Nana Yaw Amponsah and Amanda Clinton contested for the utmost position. The 118 delegates started voting in the afternoon and after a stressful time; Kurt came on top with 44 votes and closely followed by George Afriyie with 40 votes. The surprise of it all was Fred Pappoe who had 6 votes. Nana Yaw Amponsah, who was least, expected had 27 votes with both Amanda Clinton and Lawyer George Ankomah Mensah obtaining nothing.
